Our DVCPRO Transfer Process
Your DVCPRO tapes can be dropped off or shipped to our production facility in Lodi, New Jersey, less than 10 miles from New York City. Our skilled video technicians transfer DVCPRO tapes to Digital or DVD using professional playback decks and high-end capture software, coupled with TBC video filtering to maximize quality.
Each video tape is captured to digital in real-time via firewire or SDI (serial digital interface) output connections to ensure every frame is preserved at the highest quality. Our video transfer techs review all footage, trim out blank space from the beginning and end of each recording, then convert the files to MP4, AVI, MOV, or Apple ProRes according to your needs.
Your newly digitized videotapes are saved to a thumb drive, external hard drive, and/or burned to DVD. The video files are named according to the labels on each tape. Pricing is based on a per tape basis with quantity discounts for higher volumes. Whether you have a handful of tapes in your personal archive or work for a company with hundreds or even thousands of tapes, we can digitize your tapes in a timely fashion.
DVCPRO Tape Quality and Resolution
We transfer DVCPRO tapes to digital or DVD at the native resolution of the original recording to ensure there is no loss of quality. DVCRO25 records at 25Mb/s while DVCPRO50 records at 50Mb/s, both at a resolution of 720×480 for NTSC format or 720×576 for PAL format. DVCPRO-HD records at a rate of 100Mb/s at a resolution of 1280×1080.
Transferring DVCPRO tapes to digital ensures that your archival footage is safely backed up and protected from further deterioration or loss of content. Digital files don’t deteriorate or fade over time; and can be enjoyed, copied, shared or edited without the need for expensive equipment.
